Press Release : OWSL Provincial All-Star game for Cancer Research
Press Release: The OWSL announces that the Provincial All-Star Game will kick off on Saturday 19th August at 7.00pm; the venue will be at the OSA Center in Vaughan on the all weather turf field.
All proceeds raised will be donated to the Toronto Sick Kids Hospital in aid of Cancer Research.
Craig Forrest (Canadian International Goalkeeper) has pledged his support to the event and will be the announcing and commentating on the game. T.Litzen's Sports who currently sponsor our OWSL League cup has also indicated that they will also be supporting this event.
The very best Senior Provincial players will meet each other in this game; the Central and South Senior Provincial Divisions will face off against each other.
The OWSL has asked each team with membership to the OWSL to pledge a $50 minimum donation to kick things off. This will be collected at the up coming T.Litzen's League Cup weekend on June 17th and 18th.
We are pleased to welcome distinguished coaches with a long record of support to the OWSL and each coach has his own impressive record of Provincial, Ontario cup and National Titles.
The Central Division to be selected and coached by Alan Hosey and Vern Punnett, will participate against the South Division, team selection and coaching by Dave Donaldson and Walter Robertson.
Every Senior Provincial team will be represented, each team will be allowed a maximum of three representatives selected from their team.
The OWSL Board is very excited about this event and hopes that after the success and support of this year's All-Star game, we can introduce an All-Star game to the five other divisions which participate in the OWSL in future years.
All donations will be greatly appreciated, as there will be no gate charged at the game.
Once team selections have been made the team members will be proudly posted here on our website home page.
So keep checking here for future announcements and player selections.
